Note: Ninety four year old Elmer Wesley Yeck, grandson of Manassa Yeck, told this story in 1998. His aunt Ella died shortly after giving birth to a daughter named Laura, somewhere in Missouri. Since her father owned a saloon and Manassa didn't want her raised under those conditions, he brought her back from Missouri to Texas and raised her as his own child.

Elmer Yeck
Argyle - Elmer Wesley Yeck, 97, of Argyle died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Denton Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 6, 1904, in Denton County. Mr. Yeck was a farmer. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Old Alton Cemetery. The Rev. Bob Joyce will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today, Feb. 5, at Schmitz-Floyd-Andersen Funeral Home. Survivors include one son, Donald Yeck of Denton; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
