Mrs. Rachael Heater, daughter of Mrs. Bernice Lamb, Route 4, Union City, was
among 15 graduates named to the class honor roll at Parkview-Methodist School
of Nursing in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mrs. Heater was recipient of a "Torch of Wisdom" pin for outstanding
academic achievement at commencement ceremonies May 22.

Yes, we work at a school. It is a Christian boarding/day school for high
school. We have day students for elementary. Have a farm, radio station,
Bible college, and about a dozen churches in the surrounding counties, all
of which is a part of KY Mountain Holiness Association. I am the nurse for
3 areas--elementary, high school, and retirees. My main job (or original
job) was the retirement facilities. Any staff who wishes to remain here at
retirement may do so, and we care for them as long as we possibly can.
Along through the years I have picked up the nursing of scraps and bumps for
the grade school kids. Just recently I am adding at least part of the
responsibility of the high school. There is a lot of paper work to
that--especially checking immunization records and making sure they are up
to date. We had an inspector in early this year, and she was not happy with
the records. I spent a month getting things to her satisfaction and have
worked on checking any prospective student to be sure we will stay in
compliance. Ray and I have been here since August 1974.
