MARCIA YECK
Marcia May Yeck, 81, a former teacher who compiled a long list of
community activities during her 50 years here, died at the Hood River
Memorial hospital Friday, May 28. Her home was at Rt. 3, Box 1153.
Mrs. Yeck had been active in Goodwill, Women's Society for Christiabon
Christian Service of the Methodist church, Hood River Writers' club, Delta
Kappa Gamma education honor society, Women's Christian Temperance Union, Hood
River County Teachers' Assn., and Asbury Methodist church. She was also
involved in 4-H club work, Children's Farm Home and she had done volunteer
work at the nursing home here.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 1, at the Hood River Valley
Christian church with the Revs. Charles McDonald and Glyn Adsit officiating.
The Anderson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Yeck was born August 11, 1889 at The Dalles to Mr. and Mrs. Menzo
Selleck.
Survivors include her husband, Don, Hood River, and a brother, Royal
Selleck of St. Petersburg, Fla.
The family said contributions may be made to the Marcia Yeck Memorial at
West Side Elementary school, or a Memorial at Asbury Methodist Church.
